I have had semesters, but this past semester is exceptional. The semester started well and i was hoping that i would be relieved throughout, but unfortunately my intentions were totally different from reality. some courses we did were printing estimation, book finishing, bookwork and imposition, authorship development and publishing law. Indeed i liked the law, but the estimation was the toughest of all. You will finish working but every student will arrive at different answers making you think that you are wrong. That is estimation.
Our department had it's 29th Book celebration which took place in Accra. it was a wonderful experience. We had our department celebration that same week which made everything perfert.
The examination was nothing to be left out. It all started well and ended well. we are only hoping for the best results. Right now, i am at home celebrating the christmas.

what a semester I had

The semester which started on the 16th January and ended 11th may, 2011 was full of academic exercises. It was really tough for students since they have to undertake project works and seminar presentations. I was not exempted. I joined a group who researched into the safetymeasures at the press house. It was really tedious but interesting at the end, because the lecturers who were present commended us for a brilliant presentation. Also we were exposed to conventional method of page composition where we were asked to make a dummy which would serve as a footprint in book preparation.(remember my specialization, PRINTING, under PUBLISHING STUDIES). By God's grace at the end of the semester, I have been able to increase my average to another stronger position making me to retain my first class status. I am looking forward to increasing it a more stronger position. Good luck and stay blessed and be alert for the next updates.

Inter Universities

How exciting it is to be in this occassion. Different schools like,( University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast, University of Winneba, Pentecost University, University for Development studies and the lot) converging at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology for some inter schools activities. It is indeed a must to be here. There are some competitions going on: soccer, table tennis, athletics, gospel night and the like. Yesterday was wow. The atmosphere was filled with halleluya voices of praise and worship.
Today, saturday 5th March, 2011 is another day . Football match between Our school(KNUST and UG), Paa joe( our stadium). We hope to leave the tournament with second to none.

semester begins

After three weeks of vacations, we are back again to take the mantle. This semester is embedded with a unique course, that is product design. I am very happy to undertake this course for it will help broaden my scope in designing.Also as part of the Department's requirement, we will be having a seminar on a research in the book industry.From now and then, we will be working on it.This will introduce us much to the printing and publishing houses.
At the moment, students are a bit relieved. This is because, it is the first week and it involves lecturers introducing students to the various courses.
However, the semester is academically loaded. We are now offering nine courses and this will really keep us on our toes. It also involves other social activities like hall celebrations, department socializations and others, but in all this i will only be having less time to it, because of the impending research which will take place anytime.
